Racing
Don't let the 'racing' label put you off, it is the social heart of the Snow sports
club. Consider coming along to competitions if you…
Are a beginner, or ski for Great Britain.
Are interested in becoming a part of the club.
Are intrigued by great socials with other uni ski clubs
Are looking at improving your technique in a friendly environment.
Enjoy white lightning…

Our University is involved in many ski and snowboard (and drinking) competitions
throughout the year. We compete in very fun orientated dry slope and snow events
regionally, nationally and abroad. All the competitions are open for anyone of any
standard, and we try to bring as many supporters along as well to compete on the
banter front.
Most events are Team events, based around dual slalom, racing another University’s
team. We have been very successful in the past with teams coming 4th and 5th in
national events, and we often win our regional events. Bath also enters individuals
into racing and freestyle competitions.
Training
Throughout the year on Wednesday afternoons we train at Gloucester ski slope with
U.W.E. Open to skiers and boarders of any standard wishing to try or improve racing
or freestyle. A good chance to see what dry slope skiing is all about.
Kings Ski racing
This is where a lot of fun is to be had. We go to 4 regional events held at Gloucester
dry ski slope on Saturday evenings. These are always a laugh, as we compete against
Exeter, U.W.E, Bristol, Plymouth, Swansea, and Cardiff. The emphasis is on fun,
as the racing is often in fancy dress, with alcoholic and underwear prizes! Bath
has always entered 2 ski teams, a girls ski team, and a snowboard race team. The
top teams from the regional events go on to compete in a national final in London,
complete with an Epic ski ball.
BUDS
Busa recognised dry slope weekend competition held up in Edinburgh, involving both
team and individual competitions in skiing and snowboarding, both racing and freestyle.
It is an epic weekend complete with 2 big nights out Edinburgh with 100’s of students.
BUSC
The highlight of the snow sport calendar, in the first week of the Easter holidays
in Les 2 Alpes. 2000 students take over the whole resort and make for a fantastic
week. Most people don’t compete, they go for the epic nightlife and uni banter,
but if you wish to compete, there are various events, Slalom, GS, Giant Slalom,
Skier Cross, Boarder Cross, Big Air and Team Slalom.
Highlights from the previous year
Great steals including draglifts, signs and chairs.
A certain someone getting too drunk to actually ski.
Scooby Doo racing for Bath
Water balloon catapult soaking the opposition at every event.
A successful hammock ski device successfully piloted at the Kings finals.
A pheasant shattering the screen of the mini bus, then Bath loosing the police escort.
Nudity!
